Audible.com's Semi-Annual Half-Price Sale, through April 27

Audible.com’s Semi-Annual Half-Price Sale lists 1000+ titles, ending April 27 at Noon ET. Organized into the major categories, there’s helpfully a Sci-Fi and Fantasy listing, but it’s quite a doozy at 131 results. So! Here’s my usual rundown of the (too many, still) titles which caught my eye with a (somewhat) shorter list of PICKs:

- PICK: The Prestige by , Narrated by — Length:12 hrs and 19 mins — a different experience than the (well done) film, and one of the experienced and talented Vance’s most favorite narrations

- PICK: Red Mars by , Narrated by — Length:23 hrs and 52 mins — though even half-priced it’s more than the cost of a credit

- PICK: Anthology: Stories: All-New Tales by , Narrated by — Length:18 hrs and 16 mins — what you lose (and you do lose a little) by missing out on the print version (the stair-step formatting for Joe Hill’s story for example) is well-balanced by the narrations of Davis and Kellgren; while perhaps the anthology as a whole does not live up to Gaiman’s bold introduction (“… but what happens next?”) it’s one of the upper-echelon essential anthologies of the well-stocked 2010
- PICK: The Taker by , Narrated by — Length:14 hrs and 48 mins — certainly a genre novel, with a great narrative frame quite literally made for the audio format
- The Four Fingers of Death by , Narrated by — Length:27 hrs and 52 mins
- Nog by , Narrated by — Length:5 hrs and 1 min
