Before November runs out, take the take to take a break from Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping and pick up a little something for yourself for those long, dark winter nights. There are 510 Whispersync-enabled audiobooks in this month's Monthly Deals in Kindle Books listings, which is a very, very big number. Here's what most catches my eye and ear this month:
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, read by Claire Danes for Audible for $2.99+$3.99 "[A] novel of such power that the reader will be

August is almost over, which means it's #WhispersyncDeal roundup time! Before I get to the regular Monthly Deals in Kindle Books and 50 Kindle Book Deals for $2 Each listings, and the huge list of titles in Audible's "3 years of daily deals" sale, though, a completely separate deal headlines my picks this month:

Release Week: C. Robert Cargill's Queen of the Dark Things, Felix Gilman's The Revolutions, Josh Malerman's Bird Box, Norman Lock's The Boy in His Winter, and Dead Man's Hand edited by John Joseph Adams

MAY 7-13, 2014: A sequel I've been anticipating for the past year, a short stay on the "missing in audio" list for a book from one of my favorite authors, a post-apocalyptic horror, Huck Finn in the future, and a Weird West anthology headline a fairly quiet publishing week this week, at least compared to last week's haul, but by no means does that imply that there aren't more books worth checking out in the ALSO OUT listings as well. Those include (among others) Porochista Khakpour's The Last Illusion and

Everyone has their own lists, but here's mine: what I'm most looking forward to this month, in chronological order of release, with audiobook information if I know about it:
MAY 6
Authority by Jeff VanderMeer (FSG Originals, May 6) -- "In Annihilation, Jeff VanderMeer introduced the mysteries of Area X—a remote and lush terrain mysteriously sequestered from civilization. It was the first volume of a projected trilogy; well in advance of publication, translation rights had sold all around the world and

Sam's Listening Report: March 2013

So. Since I let these "monthly" reports get so completely out of hand -- note that the February report was just posted in mid-November -- I'm changing the format up a lot. I'm going to just run down what I listened to and maybe, maybe one quick comment; that way actual reviews don't have to be held up while I write a month's worth at a time. So, with that in mind, here's what I listened to in March:
NOTES:
The City of Devi by Manil Suri, read by Vikas Adam and Priya Ayyar for Blackstone Audio (review
