Posted on 2016-06-25 at 20:1 by Sam

Between this month's Summer Reading Deals in Kindle Books and 50 Kindle Book Deals for $2 Each listings there's quite a few (over 300!) Whispersync for Voice titles to check out. From comedic fantasy to YA time travel, Umberto Eco to new fiction in translation, there's something for everybody to check out:

The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco for $2.99+$3.99 is the legendary Eco's award-winning first novel, read by the marvelous Sean Barrett along with Nicholas Rowe and Neville Jason: "The year is 1327.

March WhispersyncDeal roundup: A Head Full of Ghosts, A Dirty Job, Three, Anno Dracula, Kurt Vonnegut, Tibetan Peach Pie, Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora, and more

This one's coming later in the month than I'd like, but I've been dumping my free time into Tom Clancy's The Division and listening with rapt attention to Simon Vance's narration of We, the Drowned. Of the 164 Whispersync-enabled titles in this month's Monthly Deals for $3.99 or Less listings, there's the usual crop of uninteresting (to me!) and the "not quite a deal, actually" titles. And then there are these gems, which I hope you (and your wallet) enjoy:

A Head Full of Ghosts: A Novel by Paul

Another month, another #WhispersyncDeal roundup. First up, from the Monthly Deals listings, there are 161 that are Whispersync for Voice enabled. Here's what most caught my eye, a couple handfuls of science fiction and fantasy titles, one Finnish thriller, and a few YA novels:

Dawn (The Xenogenesis Trilogy Book 1) and Adulthood Rites (The Xenogenesis Trilogy Book 2) by Octavia E. Butler, read by Aldrich Barrett for $1.99+$3.49 each -- "In a world devastated by nuclear war with humanity on the edge of

August WhispersyncDeal roundup: Ken Liu, Chuck Wendig, Joyce Carol Oates, Max Brooks, and more; read by Michael Kramer, Luke Daniels, Kate Rudd, Grover Gardner, Mary Robinette Kowal, and more!

I keep getting later and later in the month with these... so this time, once more, with feeling, don't wait too long. The first two sections of deals all expire on August 31. Tick-tock.

First, a rough pass through the 156 Whispersync-enabled Monthly Deals for $3.99 or Less which, let me tell you, is a lot of titles. Here's what most caught my eye, and there are some really good ones:

The Grace of Kings (The Dandelion Dynasty) by Ken Liu, read by Michael Kramer for Simon & Schuster Audio for $1.99+$3

Today's #WhispersyncDeal Roundup: Richard Phillips, Ben H. Winters, Water for Elephants, Amy Tan, and more

Posted on 2015-05-23 at 15:2 by Sam

Saturday, May 23: While the May #WhispersyncDeal roundup lists some ongoing deals (some of which expire tomorrow, some at the end of the month, and some which will just keep going as long as publishers keep offering these crazy upgrade prices) today brought a pile of one-day-only titles via the Gold Box Deal of the Day, including horror, YA fantasy, literary fiction, a 19th century ghost story, and more, starting with a pair of scifi titles from the "regular" daily deal list and moving right into those

January Whispersync Deal roundup: Frontera, The Thirteenth Step, Bitterwood, Katia Fox, The Lives of Tao, Embedded, and much, much more

Posted on 2015-01-22 at 22:4 by Sam

With less than 10 days left in the month, perhaps it's time to finally get the January Whispersync Deal roundup out into the world. [UPDATE: Since this post has drawn some new readers who may be unfamiliar with Whispersync for Voice, in brief: after (or at the same time as) buying the Kindle edition you can add on the narration if an enabled Audible edition exists, often for a steep discount on even the member/credit price.]

First, a handful of currently running Kindle Countdown Deals that will bump back

Top 25 most-anticipated books of June 2014

Everyone has their own lists, but here’s ours: what we're most looking forward to this month, in chronological order of release, with audiobook information if we know about it. (I tried holding the list to 10 as I managed for last month's preview, but after a second pass cutting as much as I was close to happy with, I was still in the 30s. Trimming further to 25 was hard enough!)

Whispersync Daily Deals: Anne Charnock's A Calculated Life, the Z 2134 series by Sean Platt and David W. Wright, Ian Douglas' Deep Space, and Rysa Walker's Timebound

Posted on 2014-04-30 at 15:31 by Sam

Wednesday, April 30, 2014: I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but, just in time for it to be on sale for $1.99, Anne Charnock's A Calculated Life has become Whispersync for Voice enabled to the tune of a $2.99 upgrade to the Audible edition, read by Susan Duerden for Brilliance Audio. As I reported back in January, A Calculated Life was nominated for this year's Philip K. Dick Award, and it's long been on my "pick this up the second it's on sale!" list. (No, seriously, I have a bookmarks folder of a few

Whispersync Daily Deals: Arwen Elys Dayton's Resurrection and E.V. Anderson's The Many Lives of Lilith Lane

Posted on 2014-03-04 at 14:49 by Sam

Tuesday March 4, 2014: While the big audiobook news today for me is the long-awaited release of Mur Lafferty's Ghost Train to New Orleans, I did see two Kindle deals with deal-worthy Whispersync upgrade prices to mention. (OK, OK, the release of Brandon Sanderson's Words of Radiance is a pretty big deal, too! But on to the deals, more on the new audiobooks in the next "Release Week" roundup.)

Arwen Elys Dayton's Resurrection is $1.99 plus $1.99 for the Kate Rudd narration. "The Kinley built a ship capable
