May #WhispersyncDeal roundup: Ink Mage, The Oddfits, Neal Pollack, Wayward Pines, Evermen, Ania Ahlborn, and more

Posted on 2016-05-31 at 1:22 by Sam

Of the about 300 titles in the Monthly Deals listings, 142 are listed as "eBooks with Audible Narration" which, I gather, is how the Kindle store has been listing what used to be called "Whispersync for Voice" titles these days. I'm going to continue calling these "Whipsersync Deals" and this month we get Clive Barker, Neal Pollack, Blake Crouch, James Maxwell, Ania Ahlborn, Susan Ee, Robert Dugoni, Stuart Neville, Michael Wallace, and tons more, and though again as last month there's not a whole lot of

April Whispersync Deal Roundup: SF by Jack Campbell, Gregory Benford, Larry Niven, and Greg Bear; Cassandra Clare's City of Bones, The Hunger Games, Bob Mayer's Area 51, Diana Gabaldon's Outlander, historical fiction, non-fiction, and more

Whew! It's April, and while some deals from March are still valid, here's this month's roundup of (mostly) new deals. [Editor's note: Since this series continues to draw some new readers/listeners who may be unfamiliar with Whispersync for Voice, in brief: after (or at the same time as) buying the Kindle edition you can add on the narration if an enabled Audible edition exists, often for a steep discount on even the member/credit price.]

I'll start with Monthly Deals for $3.99 or Less listings:

June is here, and along with it another crop of monthly Kindle deals, including quite a few fantastic titles with inexpensive Whispersync for Voice upgrades to the Audible editions. Here are the eight titles which most caught my eye:

Countdown City: The Last Policeman, Book 2 | [Ben H. Winters] The Accursed | [Joyce Carol Oates]

Countdown City: The Last Policeman Book II (Last Policeman Trilogy) by Ben H. Winters, read by Peter Berkrot for Brilliance Audio, for $3.99 Kindle plus $3.99 Whispersync for Voice upgrade to the Audible edition -- "There are just 77 days to go before a deadly asteroid

Whispersync Deal Roundup for May 2014: Seanan McGuire's Indexing, Stant Litore's No Lasting Burial, Ania Ahlborn's The Shuddering, Peter Lerangis' Seven Wonders, and Christian Cantrell's Containment

In the interests of time (and blog clutter) I'm going to do most "daily" Whispersync Deal posts only on Facebook/Twitter. But! As it's May 1, there's a whole crop of monthly deals to scan through. Which I have. As far as I can tell, they're valid through May 31.

In the 20 Kindle Books for $2 Each listings I found a couple of good ones, starting with Seanan McGuire's Indexing, read by Mary Robinette Kowal, for $2 Kindle plus $1.99 Whispersync for Voice upgrade. "For most people, the story of their lives is
