Posted on 2016-11-25 at 08:36 by Sam
Before November runs out, take the take to take a break from Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping and pick up a little something for yourself for those long, dark winter nights. There are 510 Whispersync-enabled audiobooks in this month's Monthly Deals in Kindle Books listings, which is a very, very big number. Here's what most catches my eye and ear this month:
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, read by Claire Danes for Audible for $2.99+$3.99 "[A] novel of such power that the reader will be

August is almost over, which means it's #WhispersyncDeal roundup time! Before I get to the regular Monthly Deals in Kindle Books and 50 Kindle Book Deals for $2 Each listings, and the huge list of titles in Audible's "3 years of daily deals" sale, though, a completely separate deal headlines my picks this month:
Per Tor and Tor.com editor Marco Palmieri, Max Gladstone's Craft Sequence is moving from Tor Books to Tor.com Publishing, and the series-wide $4.99 sale continues through August. The bad news is

Between this month's Summer Reading Deals in Kindle Books and 50 Kindle Book Deals for $2 Each listings there's quite a few (over 300!) Whispersync for Voice titles to check out. From comedic fantasy to YA time travel, Umberto Eco to new fiction in translation, there's something for everybody to check out:
The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco for $2.99+$3.99 is the legendary Eco's award-winning first novel, read by the marvelous Sean Barrett along with Nicholas Rowe and Neville Jason: "The year is 1327.

This one's coming later in the month than I'd like, but I've been dumping my free time into Tom Clancy's The Division and listening with rapt attention to Simon Vance's narration of We, the Drowned. Of the 164 Whispersync-enabled titles in this month's Monthly Deals for $3.99 or Less listings, there's the usual crop of uninteresting (to me!) and the "not quite a deal, actually" titles. And then there are these gems, which I hope you (and your wallet) enjoy:
A Head Full of Ghosts: A Novel by Paul

There are 471 Whispersync-enabled titles in this month's Kindle Monthly Deal listings, 75 of them in the Science Fiction & Fantasy section. While quite a few of these we've seen before (Amazon's 47North and Brilliance Audio pipeline) there's one right at the top that's far and away my first pick this month: Kameron Hurley's Worldbreaker Saga, read by Liza Ross:
The Mirror Empire: Worldbreaker Saga 1 for $1.99+$3.49 and Empire Ascendant: Worldbreaker Saga #2 for $1.99+$2.99 are just ridiculous prices

Another roundup pushing up against the end-of-the-month wire, so let's jump right in with the deals expiring at the end of the month.
First up, a roundup of what most caught my eye of the 189 Whispersync-for-Voice-enabled titles in this month's $3.99 or Less listings, mostly in science fiction and fantasy but a few fiction, teen, children's, and mystery titles as well:

I keep getting later and later in the month with these... so this time, once more, with feeling, don't wait too long. The first two sections of deals all expire on August 31. Tick-tock.
First, a rough pass through the 156 Whispersync-enabled Monthly Deals for $3.99 or Less which, let me tell you, is a lot of titles. Here's what most caught my eye, and there are some really good ones:
The Grace of Kings (The Dandelion Dynasty) by Ken Liu, read by Michael Kramer for Simon & Schuster Audio for $1.99+$3

When Amazon.com advertised "Kindle" deals in its Prime Day previews, I was admittedly excited. Maybe hundreds -- no, thousands, surely! -- of titles on discount? But, no, it was a few Kindle devices, not ebook titles. Alas. Still, that surely leaves not just me with a few extra bucks to spend on this month's #WhispersyncDeal listings, so here we go, starting with some choice picks from this month's 50 Kindle Books for $2 Each listings; and don't wait too long to take advantage as most of these deals only

April Whispersync Deal Roundup: SF by Jack Campbell, Gregory Benford, Larry Niven, and Greg Bear; Cassandra Clare's City of Bones, The Hunger Games, Bob Mayer's Area 51, Diana Gabaldon's Outlander, historical fiction, non-fiction, and more

Whew! It's April, and while some deals from March are still valid, here's this month's roundup of (mostly) new deals. [Editor's note: Since this series continues to draw some new readers/listeners who may be unfamiliar with Whispersync for Voice, in brief: after (or at the same time as) buying the Kindle edition you can add on the narration if an enabled Audible edition exists, often for a steep discount on even the member/credit price.]
I'll start with Monthly Deals for $3.99 or Less listings:
